Basketball Game Preview: Wayland-Cohocton Eagles vs. Midlakes Screaming Eagles

The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Midlakes Screaming Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wayland-Cohocton will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Haverling, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Wayland-Cohocton came out on top against Haverling by a score of 50-37 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Wayland-Cohocton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Fedorchuk, who went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and five steals. Fedorchuk has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Bauer, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Midlakes came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Penn Yan Academy on Friday.

Wayland-Cohocton's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Midlakes, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
