Basketball Recap: Alleghany Beats Elkin for Their Fourth Straight Win

Alleghany waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They snuck past the Elkin Buckin' Elks with a 57-52 win. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Alleghany's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colby Crouse led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The game was Crouse's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was John LeMasters, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Alleghany smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

As for Elkin, they will host Mount Airy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Airy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
