Basketball Recap: Haltom Takes a Loss

Haltom lost against Lamar back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Haltom Buffalos took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lamar Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Buffalos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 833rd, while the Vikings are ranked 375th).

Lamar found their leader in freshman Fennix Roberts, who went 11 for 20 on her way to 23 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberts has scored all season. Erin Marrs was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Haltom dropped their record down to 7-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lamar, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Haltom wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-12 victory against Grand Prairie on the 3rd. As for Lamar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-36 loss against South Grand Prairie on the 3rd.
