Recap: Kimball Jaguars vs. East Union Lancers
There's no place like home for the Kimball Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past East Union with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 58-43. For Kimball, this counts as revenge for the 52-43 loss East Union walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Tobe Nwankwo, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen DeBenedetti, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Kimball pushed their record up to 11-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for East Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimball will take on Manteca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manteca presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kimball in California (Manteca is ranked 243rd, while Kimball is ranked 536th). As for East Union, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. Oakdale is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
