Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Hersey Huskies 58-24. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Huskies are ranked 99th).

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Hersey, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Taft and Butler will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Hersey, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln-Way Central at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
