Volleyball Recap: Staley Falcons vs. Shawnee Mission East Lancers

Staley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samantha Massengale, who had ten digs and four assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Brenner, who had ten digs and one assist.

Leading Shawnee Mission East to victory were Jessie Hill and Adeline Clifford. Hill had nine digs and three aces, while Clifford had seven digs. Hill has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Staley's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Shawnee Mission East, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-9.
