Football Game Preview: Sparta Academy Warriors vs. Hooper Academy Colts

The Sparta Academy Warriors will head out to face off against the Hooper Academy Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sparta Academy has given up an average of 32.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sparta Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Patrician Academy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors had to suffer through a 49-8 loss at the hands of the Saints. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Saints are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Hooper Academy fell victim to Abbeville Christian Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 44-0 loss at the hands of the Generals. The game marked the first time this season in which the Colts were not able to get on the board.

Sparta Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Hooper Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Sparta Academy strolled past Hooper Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a score of 34-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
