Preview: Ramapo Raiders vs. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen
The Ramapo Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Sunday, Ramapo strolled past St. Mary with points to spare, taking the game 57-43.
Ramapo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Goldman led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goldman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Seals, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Don Bosco Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 82-67 win over Paramus Catholic. Given Don Bosco Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Paramus Catholic is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ramapo has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Don Bosco Prep, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
