It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Miramonte had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down the Alameda Hornets 35-21. The victory continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramonte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lane Dalton, who threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Charlie Hwang helped Dalton out on the ground, rushing for 114 yards and one TD.

Miramonte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Henry Hunt.

Miramonte now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.

Coming up, Miramonte will face off against Redwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alameda does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
