Softball Recap: Quitman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Church Point on Saturday, Quitman came back down to earth. The Wolverines came up short against the Jena Giants on Monday, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since March 29, 2025.

Maggie Guyotte was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Quitman's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Jena, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.

Quitman and Jena should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Wolverines will challenge Weston at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (39 vs. 240). Meanwhile, Jena (ranked sixth) will meet Marksville (ranked 115th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
