Baseball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for St. Xavier

St. Xavier got themselves on the board against Atherton on Sunday, but Atherton never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Ravens. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kaden Ford made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Coomer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Graven, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

St. Xavier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atherton only posted an OBP of .059.

St. Xavier's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.9 runs across that stretch. As for Atherton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13-1 record this season.
