Baseball Recap: Pagosa Springs Wins Going Away Against Dolores

Pagosa Springs won the last time they faced Dolores and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pagosa Springs Pirates put the hurt on the Dolores Bears with a sharp 24-9 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Taylor Wells made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Wells was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Ralston, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Pouyer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Pagosa Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dolores only posted a batting average of .267.

Pagosa Springs' record now sits at 2-0. As for Dolores, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
