Spruce comes up short despite Tionnie Williams' strong performance

Recap: Spruce Timberwolves vs. Seagoville Dragons

The Spruce Timberwolves lost against the Seagoville Dragons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Spruce took a hard 58-39 fall against the Dragons. Spruce has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Spruce lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tionnie Williams. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniah Williams, who scored nine points.

Seagoville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amia West, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that West scored 15 or more points. Jai White was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Spruce's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Seagoville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11.

Spruce will take on the Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Samuell has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. As for Seagoville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Poteet is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
