Baseball Recap: Santa Teresa Comes Up Short

Santa Teresa lost against Leigh on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saints lost 12-3 to the Longhorns. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Teresa got a good showing from Peter Melendez, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Melendez is becoming a predictor of the Saints' success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 7-11 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Santa Teresa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Guevarra, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Santa Teresa's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Leigh, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.

Santa Teresa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-15 victory against Westmont on the 7th. As for Leigh, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Christopher on the 7th.
