Basketball Recap: Ellington Takes a Loss

Ellington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the South Iron Panthers 78-27. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-16 back in November.

Ellington's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for South Iron, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Ellington will take on Westwood Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Whippets' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 60.1 points per game this season. As for South Iron, they are taking a road trip to take on Gideon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
