Basketball Game Preview: Pittsburg Dragons vs. Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves

The Pittsburg Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pittsburg is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Friday, Pittsburg didn't have too much trouble with Field Kindley as they won 43-27.

Meanwhile, Blue Valley Southwest came up short against Spring Hill last Saturday and fell 60-47.

Pittsburg will have to keep a close watch on Lily Unruh and Mia Hansen, a pair of players who had a big impact on Blue Valley Southwest's prior game. Unruh went 9 of 21 to rack up 21 points and five steals, while Hansen went 7 for 13 on her way to 16 points and three steals. Gabby Cowan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Pittsburg now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Blue Valley Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Pittsburg came up short against Blue Valley Southwest when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 47-41. Can Pittsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
