Basketball Recap: Custer County Bobcats vs. Sargent Farmers
Custer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-21 loss at the hands of the Sargent Farmers. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Farmers are ranked 80th).
Sargent's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kandace Pargin, who went 7-for-15 on her way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Angelise Garcia was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 13 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.
Custer County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Sargent, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Looking ahead, Custer County will square off against Cotopaxi at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
