Flag Football Recap: Highland Prep Piles Up the Points Against Santa Rita + How To Watch

Highland Prep got themselves on the board against Santa Rita on Tuesday, but Santa Rita never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 28-0. Considering the Honey Badgers have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Lawrence was nothing short of spectacular: she rushed for 105 yards and one TD on only 14 carries, and also threw for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns. She also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which she returned for a touchdown.

Highland Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Devynn McKnight, Emma Henry, and Lawrence picked up one apiece. Lawrence got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Highland Prep's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Santa Rita, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Highland Prep will challenge River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dust Devils' defense has only allowed 10.2 points per game this season, so the Honey Badgers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Santa Rita, they will face off against Horizon Honors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Santa Rita their first taste of in-conference action this season.
