Wayne took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 win over the Battle Creek Braves. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Wayne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Jorgensen out in front who posted 14 points. Theo Claussen was another key player, putting up seven points.
When it comes to explaining why Battle Creek lost, don't look at Ryan Ponto. Despite the final result, he had nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayden Thramer, who put up four points.
Coming up, Wayne will host Wakefield on Tuesday. As for Battle Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-42 victory against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 6th.
