Baseball Recap: Neshaminy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Neshaminy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-4 in the process. They blew past the Council Rock South Golden Hawks 9-1. With that win, the Skins brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Matthew Gryn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jake Plebani was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dan Marable, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Council Rock South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 28th.

On Council Rock South's side, they got a good showing from Ryan Gallagher, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The Golden Hawks are 2-1 when Gallagher allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Council Rock South saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen McLean, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Neshaminy beat the Golden Hawks by a score of 6-1 on Thursday.
