Basketball Recap: Kingstree Blazers vs. Mullins Auctioneers
Kingstree lost against Mullins back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kingstree Blazers were dealt a 67-28 loss at the hands of the Mullins Auctioneers. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Auctioneers are ranked 42nd).

When it comes to explaining why Kingstree lost, don't look at Benjamin Washington. Despite the final result, he posted nine points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Washington a new career-high in points.
Leading Mullins to victory were Dakarai Worley and Deyon Ford. Worley dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds, while Ford went 8 for 19 on his way to 17 points along with seven boards and five steals. Ford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ernest Ford, who put up 11 points and five steals.
Kingstree's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Mullins, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Atlantic Collegiate Academy the next time they take the court. Kingstree will head out to face Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mullins will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
