Volleyball Game Preview: Timnath Cubs vs. Roosevelt Roughriders + How To Watch

The Timnath Cubs will take on the Roosevelt Roughriders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Timnath is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Thompson Valley just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Eagles.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt entered their tilt with Thompson Valley last Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Roughriders have posted since November 9, 2024.

Roosevelt wouldn't go down easily and took Thompson Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 23-25, 25-27, 15-13.

Timnath better focus on containing Madi Kage and Reese Pope as the pair were huge in Roosevelt's win. Kage had 15 digs and four assists, while Pope had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Pope a new career-high.

Roosevelt was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive matchups.

Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Timnath, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Timnath took their victory against Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Roughriders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
