Recap: Mitchell Marauders vs. Elizabeth Cardinals
This season hasn't been kind to the Mitchell Marauders, who are still winless after their 11th match. They had to suffer through a rough 59-23 loss at the hands of Elizabeth. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mitchell in their matchups with Elizabeth: they've now lost three in a row.
Elizabeth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was London Machado out in front who scored 22 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Machado scored 15 or more points. Jordan Martinez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten steals and nine rebounds.
Mitchell's loss was their 19th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Elizabeth, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will take on Pueblo County at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Elizabeth, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sierra at 7:00 p.m.
