Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perry). They walked away with a 43-34 victory over the Vassar Vulcans on Friday. The Ramblers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

A big part of Perry's victory came down to the chemistry between Tyger Whitbeck and his top target Brayden Connell. Whitbeck threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns while Connell gained 110 total yards and three touchdowns. Connell also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception. Brady Burns was another key player, picking up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Perry didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jacob Adkins, Keegan Brown, and Connell picked up one apiece.

Vassar's loss came despite strong showings from Blake Karr and Madix Gorleski. Karr gained 164 total yards and two touchdowns, while Gorleski threw for 282 yards and five touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Karr a new career-high in rushing yards (65). Another player making a difference was Austin Long, who picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Perry's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Vassar, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
