Basketball Game Preview: Leon Cougars vs. Centerville Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Leon Cougars challenge the Centerville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Leon has 11 straight victories, Centerville has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Leon was able to grind out a solid win over Grapeland, taking the game 34-23.

Meanwhile, Centerville took a blow against Grapeland on Tuesday, falling 60-26. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1471st, while the Sandies are ranked 720th).

Leon is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20.

Everything came up roses for Leon against Centerville in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured an 82-35 victory. Will Leon repeat their success, or does Centerville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
