Softball Recap: Purnell Swett Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Purnell Swett's offense. They came up short against the Gray's Creek Bears on Friday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Purnell Swett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kam Locklear, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Purnell Swett's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Gray's Creek, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Purnell Swett will take on rival Cape Fear at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gray's Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe Seventy-First at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
