Softball Recap: Marcellus Has No Trouble Against Bloomingdale

Marcellus got themselves on the board against Bloomingdale on Friday, but Bloomingdale never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Carlyn Deer was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Tone was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Marcellus' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bloomingdale, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Marcellus will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
