Softball Recap: Pasadena Comes Up Short

Pasadena had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it five. They lost 20-0 to the Crescenta Valley Falcons. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 21-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pasadena saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gemma Gomez, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Crescenta Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Crescenta Valley's side, Carley Mulcahey made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Mulcahey has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Chloe Mulcahey looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mila Reddy, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Hernandez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, Pasadena will host Arcadia at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crescenta Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Burroughs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
