Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls 53-14. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-9 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Riverdale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bonner Destiny posted two points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Destiny a new career-high.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for LaBelle, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season.

Riverdale has already played their next game (against Cypress Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. LaBelle is taking a road trip to face off against Estero at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Estero is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
