Softball Recap: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins vs. Albany Cougars
If St. Patrick-St. Vincent was riding high fresh off their 18-7 takedown of Bethel last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bruins fell just short of the Albany Cougars by a score of 9-7 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 back in March.

Taylor Etchieson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Christina Thomsen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Albany, their record now sits at 6-8.
