Soccer Game Preview: Leander vs. Rouse

The Leander Lions will head out to challenge the Rouse Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rouse took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Leander, who comes in off a win.

Leander will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Lehman on Friday. Leander came out on top against Lehman by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, Rouse came up short against Cedar Park on Friday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Timberwolves are ranked 117th).

Leander's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7. As for Rouse, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Leander came out on top in a nail-biter against Rouse in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leander since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
