Basketball Recap: Lake Takes a Loss

Lake was the 49-43 winner over Pisgah when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets took a blow against the Dragons on Tuesday, falling 66-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered against the Dragons since November 14, 2019.

Pisgah was led to victory by Luke Sanders and Zane Smith. Sanders went 9-for-15 en route to 26 points and five assists, while Smith almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Sanders' big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhett Robertson, who posted four points in addition to five boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lake and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Pisgah, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coincidentally, Lake and Pisgah will both be playing Sebastopol the next time they take the court. The Dragons will host the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
