It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Delran had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the West Deptford Eagles by a score of 28-20. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on six straight.
It was another big night for Vinny Sacca, who rushed for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 153 yards and one TD. Those 165 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Sacca's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Justin Mary, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Delran was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 220 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
West Deptford lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zamir Davis, who rushed for 67 yards and two scores on only seven carries. Bryce Wynn was another key player, rushing for 89 yards and one TD on only nine carries.
Delran's record now sits at 10-1. As for West Deptford, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.
Delran has already played their next matchup, a 28-7 loss against Haddonfield on the 14th. West Deptford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
