Basketball Recap: Elijah Cooks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bloomfield over West Las Vegas

Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The game between them and the West Las Vegas Dons didn't end well, with the Bloomfield Bobcats falling 69-55. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Cooks, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Avery Harrison, who had 11 points.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for West Las Vegas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Bloomfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-48 victory against Shiprock on the 18th. West Las Vegas has also already played their next game, a 51-48 win against Hot Springs on the 18th.
