Recap: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. Memorial Red Devils
The Jackson-Milton Bluejays can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Memorial 42-22. The win was some much needed relief for Jackson-Milton as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jackson-Milton found their leader in underclassman Amani Yasin, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Yasin hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Macayle Thornhill, who scored six points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Memorial lost, one person who can't be blamed is Angeliz Diaz. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Jackson-Milton's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Memorial, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Jackson-Milton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Medina Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Jackson-Milton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday. As for Memorial, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against East Palestine at 7:00 p.m. Memorial comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
