Softball Game Preview: West Union Dragons vs. Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs

West Union hasn't had much luck against Lynchburg-Clay recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Dragons are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. West Union has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Union is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 12-1 to Eastern.

Meanwhile, Lynchburg-Clay fell victim to Westfall and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of Westfall by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which Lynchburg-Clay was not able to get on the board.

West Union's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lynchburg-Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

West Union suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Lynchburg-Clay in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
