Baseball Recap: Southern Lab Comes Up Short

Southern Lab was the 9-3 winner over False River when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Kittens fell 9-6 to the Gators on Saturday. The Kittens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reggie Ellis was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Southern Lab: the team is 7-3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-13 otherwise. Kendall Johnson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Southern Lab now has a losing record of 15-16-1. As for False River, they moved to 8-20 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Lab will take on Cecilia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for False River, they will square off against St. John at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
