Baseball Game Preview: East Chambers Buccaneers vs. Hardin Hornets

East Chambers hasn't had much luck against Hardin recently, but that could start to change on Monday. East Chambers is taking a road trip to square off against Hardin at 7:00 p.m.

East Chambers fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Warren on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Hardin entered their tilt with Anahuac on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted against the Panthers since March 17, 2023.

Lleyton Berry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Berry was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trevor Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

East Chambers' loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Hardin, their record is now 11-6-1.

East Chambers might still be hurting after the 19-7 defeat they got from Hardin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can East Chambers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
