Hampden is headed into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line, something Brunswick almost spoiled on Friday. Hampden sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Brunswick.
Meanwhile, Bangor fell victim to Camden Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 7-0 walloping at the hands of the Windjammers.
Hampden's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bangor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Hampden came out on top in a nail-biter against Bangor when the teams last played back in May of 2023, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hampden since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
