Volleyball Game Preview: California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes vs. Bellflower Buccaneers

The California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Bellflower Buccaneers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. California Academy of Math & Science is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Last Friday, California Academy of Math & Science didn't have quite enough to beat Harbor Teacher and fell 3-2. While the Coyotes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Monarchs 25-20 in the first set.

California Academy of Math & Science actually scored more points across those five sets (100-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 11-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Bellflower didn't have quite enough to beat South Pasadena on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellflower actually scored more points across those five sets (100-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-16, 13-25, 15-25, 25-23, 15-11.

California Academy of Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bellflower, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

California Academy of Math & Science came up short against Bellflower when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can California Academy of Math & Science avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
