Baseball Recap: Port Clinton Takes a Loss

Port Clinton was the 9-2 winner over Northwood when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Redskins fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

Liam Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Tre Armendariz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Port Clinton has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Northwood, their victory ended a 17-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Port Clinton will venture away from home to challenge Oak Harbor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Redskins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Northwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Woodmore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
