Softball Recap: Water Valley Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

Water Valley won the last time they faced Houlka and things went their way on Thursday too. Water Valley was the clear victor by a 20-10 margin over Houlka. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by ten runs or more this season.

Kenley Pullen was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Ryley Hill, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Water Valley has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.1 runs over those games. Houlka's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Water Valley will square off against Calhoun City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Houlka, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Houlka Wildcats duke it out with West Lowndes Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
