Volleyball Recap: Rancho Mirage Comes Up Short

Rancho Mirage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs, falling 3-0. If the Rattlers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Mighty Arabs when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rancho Mirage was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Coachella Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiyanna Inzunza, who had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Inzunza has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Giada Lopez, who had six aces.

Rancho Mirage's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Rancho Mirage will take on Indio at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coachella Valley, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against JW North on the 16th.
