Softball Recap: Haddam-Killingworth Comes Up Short

Haddam-Killingworth saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the St. Bernard Saints. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emma Giaccone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haddam-Killingworth saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Natanzon, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Haddam-Killingworth's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for St. Bernard, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Haddam-Killingworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Bernard, they will take on Somers on Friday.
