Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Lions vs. Hatley Tigers

Hamilton is 2-8 against Hatley since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Hamilton Lions challenge Hatley Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hamilton's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hatley on Tuesday.

For Hatley's part, the result came thanks to Ashlynn Dabbs's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. Dabbs has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emily Hill was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Coffey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Hatley's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
