It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but South Fayette ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Chartiers Valley Colts. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Tuesday.

South Fayette is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chartiers Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. South Fayette will take on rival Bethel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chartiers Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
