Soccer Game Preview: McClatchy vs. Antelope

The McClatchy Lions will face off against the Antelope Titans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. McClatchy's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

McClatchy is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Grant on Tuesday. McClatchy fell just short of Grant by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Antelope, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let West Park onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Panthers are ranked 686th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Antelope's one-goal win came courtesy of Ty Hunter, who's now up to three this season.

Antelope's win bumped their record up to 8-5-3. As for McClatchy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-5.
