Baseball Recap: West Chicago Takes a Loss

West Chicago is still winless after their matchup against Glenbard South on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since May 23, 2024.

West Chicago saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Zbierski, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

West Chicago's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Glenbard South, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

While West Chicago had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
