It was fun while it lasted, but Wilby's undefeated season came to an end after  four games  on Friday. They took  a  53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodland Regional Hawks. The  contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring  matchup so far this season.
 Wilby's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Joi Jackson, who  posted six points. Jackson is also crushing it when it comes to  steals: she's   grabbed at least two every time she's  taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was  Ja'Nell Saunders, who  went 6 of 13  en route to 13  points and seven  rebounds.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Wilby  fell to 4-1. As for Woodland Regional, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Wilby will host Kennedy  at 1:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Woodland Regional, they will venture away from home to  challenge Holy Cross  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Holy Cross will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something Woodland Regional surely won't give up without a fight.
