Basketball Recap: Voorhees Takes a Loss

Voorhees was the 46-23 winner over Jefferson Township when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Voorhees Vikings took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Township Falcons. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jefferson Township was led to victory by Emma Barone and Kiley Shatzel. Barone went 6-for-12 to rack up 14 points and five steals, while Shatzel dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. Jefferson Township is undefeated when Barone posts three or more steals, but 5-6 otherwise. Riley Strauch was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Voorhees' defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Jefferson Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That lines up perfectly with their 18-6 record this season.

Voorhees has already played their next match (against Holmdel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Jefferson Township, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-53 loss against West Morris Mendham on the 22nd.
